As a human being who happend to be born between the Jordan river and the Mediterranean sea, I am disappointed in /r/bitcoin
Some of the comments on this post are embarrasing: http://www.reddit.com/Bitcoin/comments/260mia/with_little_publicity_israel_has_grown_into_one/ There are some people in Israel working tirelessly to make bitcoin as global as possible, with many discussing with people on the "other side of the border" on how to get bitcoin to be a truly revolutionary tool for empowerment and non-aggression. Believe it or not, not every "Israeli" is out there harassing and murdering Palestinians (while many bitcoiners would do more than they currently can about the situation if it wasn't such a police state). I'm sorry as much as you are about the violence and harm to innocent people because of a bunch of psychopathic maniacs who brainwash millions of people to pick up arms. This saddens me. But if you're serious about bitcoin, the Israeli bitcoin community is one to note, being one of the most impressive in the world and beating other major communities by serious metrics despite it's tiny size. /Bitcoin would be shooting itself in the foot by ostracizing the Israeli community. Just to get an idea (remembering that this is a nation of just 7 million people):
Second largest local facebook group in the world by absolute size (~4,000 members, beaten only by Argentina)
Second largest local meetup group in the world by absolute size (~1,350 members, beaten only by London)
Second bitcoin embassy in the world (opened November 2013, beaten only by Montreal)
The Israeli Bitcoin Association is one of the founding members of the Global Bitcoin Alliance, arguably the best alternative to the [American] Bitcoin Foundation
Lots of bitcoin innovation comes from Israel (Lamassu ATM, Bitrated, BitcoinAuthenticator, ColoredCoins, proprietary bitcoin exchange technology and much more)
The number of bitcoin startups and commercial activity in Israel is growing impressively
CoinMap shows Israel to be one of the more populous countries in bitcoin accepting businesses (with most businesses not having a physical presence and not showing up on CoinMap)
If you count any of these metrics per capita, you'd be painting an even more impressive picture
http://community.alefbit.com If you want to get to know the Israeli community more feel free to pm me, I will probably know who to get you in touch with. Don't forget to get your tickets to the Inside Bitcoins conference in Tel Aviv! (http://bitcointlv.com/en/) A great opportunity to meet some of us :) (edited typos)

CoinATMRadar.com - find the location of Bitcoin ATMs on the map
I'm a true fan of Bitcoin and truly believe that it's there not to disappear one day. There are many obstacles already, e.g. in the regulation area, and in order to facilitate growth of acceptance - there should be many services around it. The easiest way to go into public for Bitcoin are ATMs. There are different manufacturers in the area: Robocoin, BitAccess, Lamassu. But while I was looking through - I found out that info on locations of those ATMs is very scarce in the internet. There are many marketing posts about launching it soon, but you can hardly find where exactly the ATMs are already present. E.g. check https://lamassu.is/maps/ - they have so many ATMs on the map - but there are no details about addresses and it all looks like those are marked where they have shipped (country level only) or plan to send. I want to introduce service where you can find already operating ATMs on the map from different providers - CoinATMRadar.com Those on the map were added after searching in different public sources and I plan to look further and keep it up-to-date. Would appreciate if someone could report other locations. Hope it would be useful and add value to Bitcoin spreading out.
